Less than a month ago, we held our 83rd Annual Meeting. The Board of Directors for Consumers Cooperative Association of Eau Claire shared their focus for the last year and updated stockholders to the significant investments made to our facilities and infrastructure.
Over the last year your Board of Directors approved and provided oversight to the remodeling of our Birch St and Water St locations, the conversion to LED lighting at 18 locations, made improvements to several parking lots, added an Erbert & Gerbert’s restaurant at the Melby Rd location, and acquired five additional stores located in Durand, Elk Mound, New Lisbon, Stanley, and Abbotsford.
Our 2018 optimization plan was also shared; the focus is on improving store conditions, optimizing profits and operational costs, and developing more ways for our Cooperative members to save.
New Board Officers Announced
Your Board of Directors also recently elected new officers to serve and lead the organization.
Frank Draxler was elected to the office of President, Christina Wiersgalla was elected to the office of Vice President, and Duane Hull will serve as the Secretary/Treasurer this year.
Please join me in congratulating them as they work hard to govern the organization and lead the Board of Directors through another successful year!

CONVENIENCE STORE NEWS
As we slowly (way too slowly!) approach the spring season, we continue to focus on our mission to be the best place to work, shop, and
belong. The Operation Department’s initiatives, and what you can expect to see in our stores, all anchor to the theme of pride and ownership in every one of our locations. Our team has done a phenomenal job of making each location clean and inviting, while providing a shopping experience second to none.
Over the last several months we have added music into most of our stores, which makes for a more pleasant and fun atmosphere for our members and customers. We are currently focused on a spring cleaning initiative that includes a total overhaul of our restrooms, as well as inside and outside store conditions. Our leadership team takes pride in every aspect of their store, and you’ll notice it when you stop in to visit.
Another focus is to introduce new products into our stores on a regular basis, specifically our hot food offerings. Our commitment to quality, taste, and flavor is exemplified in all our hot food, and especially in these new items.
If you haven’t done so already, stop in and try our new Cinnabon Cinnapoppers for breakfast and come back for Godfather’s Pizza available over lunch and dinner. They are fresh, delicious, and will leave you wanting more!
Thank you for making our stores your first choice – we will continue to strive to make Mega! CO-OP the best place to shop!

Alice Shutes – Store Manager, Mega! Holiday #3706 (Craig Rd.)
When Alice started with us in May 2017, she brought leadership experience gained from her time at Wendy’s and Super America. Alice quickly embraced Mega! CO-OP’s culture and stepped up to fill the role of Assistant Store Manager at the Hwy 93 store. She successfully completed the Assistant Store Manager Training Program and received her Certification in February 2018.
While Alice was completing her certification, she filled in at our Craig Road location where she quickly fit in with the established team there and decided to use her training and experience to confidently step up and say, “I want this store.” Shortly after expressing interest, Alice was promoted to Store Manager of the Craig Road location.
Alice’s District Manager, Bethany Stovall, credits Alice’s success to her positive approach to day-to-day challenges, a mutual respect for her team members. and the non-stop drive to make things happen for herself. Next time you are in our Craig Road store and see Alice, make sure to say “Hi” and congratulate her on becoming a Store Manager!
