Some of our Mega! Co-op team members joined in helping their local community through the United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley “Day of Caring” Event on Friday, September 15 at the Bolton Refuge House. The team took care of weeding, adding mulch, as well as trimmed and cleaned up the landscaping around the facility. Thank you to all those who came out to show their support and our amazing team who constantly put their passion for their local community on display!

Summer is not over. At least the sunny and 75 degree weather makes it seem that way regardless of school back in session and pumpkin spice cappuccinos back on the menu at Mega! Co-op Holiday. Bring a sweet (literally) end to the busy work and school week with 2 simple ingredients: cookies and ice cream. Yup, that’s it!
The team at Mega! Co-op enjoyed another fun year at the Annual Dragon Boat Festival held in Eau Claire, WI at Half Moon Beach. The event, held on Saturday, August 5, was hosted by Mayo Clinic Health System to support hospice services. Our Mega! Co-op Power Paddlers enjoyed their time working together in a new setting, a Hong Kong-style dragon boat, along a 250-meter course. The weather could not have been more perfect!
Mega! Co-op’s mission is to serve our customers, communities, cooperative members, and fellow team members through trusting relationships. The Dragon Boat Festival provided an important role in building these relationships all while giving back to an incredible cause. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible and our enthusiastic, hard-working team!

CEO, Mike Buck
As we shared at our last annual meeting in March, we have two major capital expenditure projects for this year. Our convenience stores located on Water Street and Birch Street, both in Eau Claire, are going to have significant remodels completed before the end of the fiscal year.
The remodels are extensive and include updating the interior of the store, new equipment, L.E.D. lighting, improvements to products and services we offer as well as major improvements to the exterior parking lots. In addition, we will be installing new gas pumps at the Birch St. location. Both store remodels will improve our customer and member experience at the store and provide a well-lit, safe work environment for our team members.
The Birch St. location is scheduled for completion before the end of September and we expect to have the Water St. location completed before the end of October.
Please take a moment to stop by the next time you are near either store, our team would be happy to show you the many improvements that have been or will be made.
New to Mega! Co-op: Member Exclusive Email Offers
We are constantly working on new ways to give back to our cooperative members. Most recently we launched our Mega! Co-op Member Exclusive Email Offers. These are emailed bi-weekly and include a number of exclusive discounts on fresh products, convenience items, car washes, fuel, and more. If you are not already receiving our emails, you can sign up here for these deals. We suggest adding firstname.lastname@example.org to your contact list to ensure you receive these offers directly to your inbox and avoid missing these discounts as a result of them landing in your spam or junk folder.
Convenience Store News
Operations Manager, Gerry Strand
Mega! CO-OP has been your Member Owned choice for your fueling needs for years. But, did you know that we also have one of the most comprehensive Fresh Brewed Coffee lineups in our local Convenience Store market? It’s True! We have up to six different blends that will satisfy even the most ardent coffee lover. I would like to take a moment to introduce you to two of those flavors.
The flagship and most popular coffee is our Rain Forest House Blend. It is a Brazilian Arabica bean blend that I call the light roast with the most benefit. First, it is designated as a Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee bean. This ensures that the beans produced for this coffee are from growers that practice water and wildlife conservation and guarantees fair treatment and fair wages for their workers. These growers must also demonstrate sustainable forestry practices. Since these beans come from the Brazilian Rainforests of the Amazon and the Amazon produces 20% of the earth’s oxygen, it is important. Secondly, because it is a light roast does not mean it is light on flavor or caffeine. To the contrary. Caffeine is depleted in the roasting process so the lighter the roast the higher the caffeine.
The second blend I would like to introduce is our Espresso Dark Roast. This is our most robust blend made from 100% Arabica Beans. It has the coffee shop flavor without the coffee shop cost. It is deep in flavor, rich, and complex without being bitter. You can dress this up anyway you like with our FREE flavored syrups and FRESH dairy creamers.
Either way you like your coffee, light or dark, your Mega! CO-OP has the coffee flavor for you without the lines or the high price of the coffee shop.
Team Member Spotlight
Senior Human Resources Generalist, Karla Dickson
To help recruit quality applicants and to highlight Mega! as a “Great Place to Work”, the HR department started a Mega! CO-OP Careers Facebook page. Featured each week are team member pictures, a “Hot Job” alert, Fun Fact Friday, and a Team Member Spotlight.
Most recently featured in the weekly Team Member Spotlight are three individuals who were recognized at our July leadership meeting for their commitment to their careers with Mega! CO-OP.
All three of them completed their training and passed the assessments needed to qualify them as Certified Assistant Store Managers. The certification process takes at least 12 weeks to complete. By being certified, it shows that the assistant managers have learned how to effectively manage their business and lead their teams.

Filling the Dream for Special Olympics Wisconsin

Over 30 Mega!
