Mega! CO-OP Holiday Station and Travel Stop stores are pleased to announce a donation of over $2,000 combined through its fundraising efforts during the month of October as part of their “Co-op Month” celebrations.
During October, as part of Mega! CO-OP’s ongoing commitment to the community, they donated $1 from every car wash sold at 11 participating locations. Bolton Refuge House, Junior Achievement, the VFW Unmet Needs Program, and the Eau Claire Area School District (ECASD) Homeless Program were the 4 recipients. Each week of October featured one organization to receive the donations.
“On behalf of the 350 Mega! CO-OP team members and over 33,000 Mega! CO-OP members, it is our sincere honor to give back to such deserving organizations and the many people they help throughout our community,” said Mike Buck, Mega! CO-OP President.
Consumers Cooperative Association of Eau Claire, which operates as Mega! CO-OP, was founded in Eau Claire, WI, in 1935 and has grown to 33 convenience stores throughout Western Wisconsin employing more than 350 team members. Serving over 33,000 cooperative members with service, quality, and value, Mega! CO-OP’s vision is to be the best place to work, shop, and belong, all while supporting the communities it serves.
“Thank you to everyone at Mega! CO-OP and all of the customers that made this donation possible!” shared Dani Claesges, Homeless Program & Homebound Program Coordinator, Eau Claire Area School District. “Every cent goes directly to purchasing items and transportation to help keep homeless students attending and participating in school like any other student.”
Rain or shine, Mega! CO-OP customers had the opportunity to purchase a car wash at one of the participating wash locations. Customers could then use their car wash code anytime up to 30 days after purchase.
“We are thankful for business partners like Mega! CO-OP. We would not be able to offer JA programs without their support,” said Junior Achievement Director, Susan Peterson. “We also thank everyone who showed their support by purchasing a car wash.”
