EAU CLAIRE, WISC – Mega! CO-OP Holiday Station stores are pleased to announce a donation of over $2,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley through its “Back to School” fundraiser.
On Friday, September 1, Mega! CO-OP kicked off the Club Kids Rule! campaign, which ran through Friday, September 15. During that time, $1 donations were collected at the registers of area Mega! CO-OP Holiday Station stores. Additionally, Mega! CO-OP donated $1 from every car wash purchased starting Friday, September 8 and concluding on Friday, September 15.
Combined, these campaigns brought the total raised to $2,383.78. All proceeds collected will go to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley’s Chippewa Falls Center and the Mary Markquart Center in Eau Claire.
“On behalf of the 350 Mega! CO-OP team members and over 20,000 Mega! CO-OP members, it is our sincere honor to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley through this fund-raising event,” said Mike Buck, Mega! CO-OP President.
Since 2007, Mega! CO-OP has raised more than $9,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley and the families they serve.
“Our mission is to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens,” said, Sara Antonson, Chief Executive Officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley. “We are so very grateful to Mega! CO-OP and their team for generating funds for our Clubs and the families and children we serve.”
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley strive to provide activities and experiences for members in which they might otherwise not have the opportunity. By providing positive activities and after-school programming for youth ages 8-18, the Boys & Girls Club is a strong community resource which enables young people to reach their full potential, gain self-esteem and become responsible citizens. All this is available to the youth for just a $15 annual membership fee.
Consumers Cooperative Association of Eau Claire, which operates as Mega! CO-OP, was founded in Eau Claire, WI, in 1935 and has grown to 33 convenience stores throughout Western Wisconsin employing more than 350 team members.
